Dwaine was born on March 3, 1937, on the family farm near Dwight, NE to William and Rose (Kadavy) Pekarek. He graduated from Seward High School in 1954. Dwaine served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. On June 21, 1969, Dwaine was united in marriage to Maxine Saathoff in Lincoln, NE. They bought a farm near Pleasant Dale, NE, where he and Maxine made their living farming and raising livestock. He was employed at American Stores in Lincoln, NE for 18 years. Dwaine passed away at his home on June 3, 2011, at the age of 74 years and 3 months. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Pekarek; sons and their wives, David and Kandice Pekarek of Lincoln, NE, Scott and Sheila Pekarek of Garland, NE, Dwaine Jr. and Cynthia Pekarek of Plattsmouth, NE and John and Debra Pekarek of Waukee, IA; grandchildren, Kelli, Kyle, Reece, Breanna, Jillian, Anthony, Cassidy and Logan Pekarek; step-grandchildren, Matthew and Ali Clark; brother, David Pekarek of Seward, NE; Dwaine was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karen Pekarek.
