Ladd Hershner passed over the horizon of this earthly life on April 9, 2016 at the age of 67. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio on December 1, 1948 to Donna and Leslie (Draves) Hershner. His father and stepfather were both in the Air Force and so he finished his school career in 1966 at Lincoln High, as his family was stationed at the air base. He received his teaching degree and Masters Degree in Journalism from UNL. During his life he positively affected the lives of many people. He was a coach for youth football league in Lincoln and led many successful teams. He was a teacher of Alternative Education at Crete High School and encouraged many students to get their high school diploma as a means to becoming productive adults. He also made many friends playing racquetball throughout his life. Survivors include his son, Leslie from Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter, Traci from Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren, ReyAnna, Rylan and Bri; wife, Phyllis from Utica, Nebraska; stepson, Brett Wells (Rondalin) and family from Beatrice, Nebraska; stepdaughter, Meagan Wallinga (Mike) and family from Orange City, Iowa; sister, Sherry Lee (Dennis) and family from Tucson, Arizona; brother, Lon Wilson (Carol) and family from Hawaii; mother and father-in-law, Mabel and Irvin Stanard from Lincoln, Nebraska; sister and brother-in-law, Steve and Charlene Dunbar from Lincoln, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Barbara Stanard from Utica, Nebraska. Ladd was preceded in death by parents, stepfather, Jim Stell and brother, Monte Wilson.
